If you do the math between how much a stick of Birdseye Maple would cost plus the maple dowel and the labor involved, we're sure you'll agree that these are genuinely a bargain! These are special and recently made as per our usual high standards and specifications. They are very nicely figured and loaded with birdseyes as you can plainly see. Each forearm has been cored with a .750 hard maple dowel for stability. The core runs about 15". The Birdseye outer skin runs about 12.75". The taper dimensions are 1.10"/1.30". These are all sound forearms without mineral and cracks. These are super premium fronts. You will not find better or more highly figured Birdseye Maple anywhere. Each end has a 60 degree center and all pieces are treated with Resolute. These are incredibly stable and ready for almost immediate use. We recommend letting them sit in your shop for a couple of weeks prior to taking a pass. The first thing that you should do it take a very small pass on your equipment. You may also cut points in or whatever you can dream up. ;-) Considering how well these are crafted and how consistent they are from front to front -- the cost of wood, cost of machinery, tooling and labor, our price is quite reasonable. |
