The picture shows a long core beyond the primary wood. The total length of the core is 15" and the actual handle wood is 13". We'll be replacing the photo soon. These are clean straight grained maple dowles that are approximately 1.325" X 13" and cored .750 with a 15" maple core. In fact, these are so nice that they can be used without a wrap if so desired. They are extremely stable and of course treated with Resolute. Additionally, we put a taper of about 1.250/1.325 which will cut down on your tapering time.
