We recently heard a ridiculous tale. Some obscure "cue maker" (and I use that term lightly in this case) stated that high grade shafts cannot be graded as high grade while they're in the square form. This is the most ridiculous statement ever made. We sell over 20,000 shafts annually and we know what a high grade shaft looks like. We turn thousands and thousands of shafts annually. If you know what to look for, it's real simple. Some obscure "cue makers" have probably never seen a really high grade shaft. We handle more shafts in one week than most cue makers handle all year. We turn more shafts in one month than most cue makers handle in one year and we sell more shafts in one year than most cue makers will see in their entire career. We know shafts in the round or square and we venture to say that professional cue makers know as well. Keyword here is professional. Nice huh!! These are the best of the best. These are all high growth ring concentration, white and perfectly straight grained. Just take a close look at the two photo's.This is genuine old-growth maple that rarely come up for sale these days.
